The Tren Suburbano is the electric commuter train linking Mexico City with towns in the northern State of Mexico. It leaves from Buenavista station, about 4 km from Hotel Emma Boutique, and runs to Cuautitlán. Since April 2026 it also has a branch that splits off at Lechería and runs to Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA); that service is called the Felipe Ángeles Train. If you’re heading to AIFA, Tlalnepantla or Cuautitlán, it’s the fastest way to skip the traffic.

Where it takes you
- Cuautitlán line: Buenavista, Fortuna, Tlalnepantla, San Rafael, Lechería, Tultitlán and Cuautitlán.
- AIFA branch: shares the tracks as far as Lechería, then continues through new stations to the Felipe Ángeles airport terminus.
- At Buenavista you can connect with Metro Line B and Metrobús Lines 1, 3 and 4.
- AIFA trains are separate from Cuautitlán trains and have their own entrance at Buenavista.
How to pay
This is where most visitors get confused. The Cuautitlán service uses the Suburbano’s own card, sold and topped up at its machines. The AIFA train takes the Integrated Mobility Card (Tarjeta de Movilidad Integrada), the same one used on the Metro and Metrobús. They aren’t topped up at the same machines, so buy the one that matches your trip. Fares depend on distance; confirm at the ticket office.
Getting there from Hotel Emma Boutique
By Metrobús: walk about 10 minutes to Glorieta de Insurgentes and take Line 1 toward Indios Verdes to the Buenavista stop, next to the train station.
By Metro: from Sevilla, 200 m away, take Line 1 toward Pantitlán to Balderas; Line 3 toward Indios Verdes to Guerrero; then Line B one stop to Buenavista.
Tips
- Avoid weekday rush hours: trains are full heading into the city in the morning and out in the evening.
- For AIFA, look for the “Usuarios ramal AIFA” signs at Buenavista and board only that service.
- Hours change on weekends and some holidays; check ahead if you have an early flight.
- On the AIFA train you tap your card again on the way out; keep enough balance for the full trip.
