What to expect

This is the version the Compañía Nacional de Danza stages every December at the Auditorio, a large production designed for that stage: the Christmas party, the battle with the Mouse King and the journey to the land of sweets, with the score played live. It usually works well for kids who can already sit through a long show.

Getting there from Roma Norte

The Auditorio is about 3 km from the hotel. You have three options:

  • Metro: walk 200 m to Sevilla station on Line 1 and ride toward Observatorio to Tacubaya. Change there to Line 7 toward El Rosario and get off two stops later at Auditorio, which reopened in May 2026 after renovation work.
  • Metrobús: Line 7 runs along Paseo de la Reforma and has an Auditorio stop in front of the venue. You can board at the Reforma stops near Roma Norte, such as La Diana or Chapultepec.
  • Taxi or ride-hailing app: it’s about 3 km, but Reforma gets heavy traffic on December evenings. Leave early.

Tips for going with kids

  • The midday shows on Saturday the 19th and Sunday the 20th are the easiest for younger children.
  • Arrive at least 45 minutes early: during the holiday season the lobby and entrance fill up.
  • Check the venue’s admission policy for children on the Auditorio website before buying tickets.
  • Bring a jacket: December nights are cold and you exit outdoors onto Reforma.

Getting back at night

If you go to an 8:00 pm show, the Metro is still running when it ends, but service stops around midnight. With tired kids, a taxi or app ride from Reforma is the easiest option: you’ll be back in Roma Norte in a few minutes.

Make a day of it

The Auditorio sits next to Chapultepec Park: before an afternoon show you can stroll by the lake or visit the National Museum of Anthropology, a few minutes’ walk along Reforma. For the rest of your stay, see what happens on December 12 or explore the Zócalo.
